PLAY KIT Inspired by @busytoddler . Susie from Busy Toddler got me thinking about our upcoming vacation and having things to do for my kids. Especially if we’re waiting, my littles are busy bees, so I’ve created a travel PLAY KIT. Compact, full of goodies, and ready to go! To be used used while waiting for food at a restaurant, during a car ride, or for that matter anywhere:) My favorite part of this setup is the endless ideas we can create. I know my son Alexander will think of a million more ideas…which is the beauty in having things prepared and having a semi-plan. Cherry on top —> Once you’ve prepared your PLAY KIT it’s ready to tag along with you and your family.

PLAY KIT BREAKDOWN
Deck of Cards
Activity 1: Learn about the 4 suits (Spades, Hearts, Diamonds, & Clubs) and sort them.
Activity 2: Organize the cards in numerical order.
Activity 3: Allow my kids to just manipulate them as they choose. In an orderly manner of course. 😉
Stickers
Activity 1: Peel them off and stick on the post-it notes, themselves, or family members LOL.
Activity 2: Identify what the sticker is about and create a story about it.

Color Flashcards
Activity 1: Identify the colors.
Activity 2: Identify objects in the room we’re in that match our flash card.

Post-it Notes
Activity 1: Use stickers to decorate their post-it notes.
Activity 2: Draw a picture using crayons.

Tiny Animals
Activity 1: Play pretend with the animals. Feed them, clean them, etc…
Activity 2: Identify what the animal is and make their corresponding sounds.

Activity 1: Use the crayons to color their post-it notes
Activity 2: Use the crayons to write their name on the post-it notes.

And lastly, I will have my iPad. To be used to watch a video, I prop it up near me and I control it. They just watch from afar:) The iPad is used when necessary 🙂 You know those moments when you need the kiddos to just chill. 😉
